School Counselor
Instructor: Marshall
Welcome to the Belmont Elementary Counseling Program! This year marks my 25th year in education. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in education. My counseling degree is a Master of Arts from The George Washington University. I have been a school counselor in Prince William County for 11 years. Please feel free to contact me if you should ever want to discuss concerns, issues or situatuations you may need help with.
Our Counseling Program offers classroom lessons based on Prince William County Objectives, state and national standards. Students are invited to be in small groups were we develop various skills from friendship, coping with grief, changing families, be my best in school and positive me. I also see the children individually to help with any concerns.
Belmont Focuses on Six Character Traits:
Trustworthiness     Responsibility      Respect     Fairness     Caring      Citizenship

Counseling office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Class Announcements
BIG HEART
Mrs. Collazo's kindergarten class, pictured above, showed Mrs. Marshall their love and appreciation for what she does as their counselor at Belmont. They made her a huge heart decorated with smaller hearts to say thank you in celebration of National School Counselor Week.
Attendance
Please remember children with regular attendance have a greater chance of doing well in school and graduating high school. When children accumulate many absences, tardies and early dismissals, these do have an impact on their learning and motivation for school.
If you have questions or concerns about this subject, please feel free to contact me, Mrs. Marshall, at 703.494.4945.
SPECIALTY PROGRAMS
Congratulations to many of our 5th grade students who were accepted to middle school specialty programs!

We knew you could do it and are proud of you! Now the final step is to do well on the SOLs. Remeber all the things you are working on in class and the test tips you are learning.
